Flag Football 2026

For Kids in Grades 1st – 6th

Flag Football is back, and we’re ready for another exciting season! This program is designed to teach kids the fundamentals of football in a fun and team-oriented environment. Players will learn how to throw and catch properly, develop a better understanding of the game’s rules and tactics, and experience the thrill of competition on game day!

League Divisions

🔹 1st & 2nd Grade
🔹 3rd & 4th Grade
🔹 5th & 6th Grade

Our goal is to form 4 teams per age group, with 12-16 players per team. Each team will need at least 2 coaches, and we are looking for volunteers to help make this program a success! Volunteers who complete the application process and are approved will receive a program discount as a token of our appreciation.

📍 Location: YMCA Field (2001 North Lincoln Road, Escanaba, MI)

📅 Assessment Days:

• 1st – 3rd Grade: Thursday, September 10th from 5:30pm – 6:30pm
• 4th – 6th Grade: Friday, September 11th from 5:30pm – 6:30pm
• We’ve updated our assessment dates and times to better accommodate the holiday weekend and allow our staff additional time to create balanced teams and communicate team placements to families. Thank you for your understanding!

We highly encourage all players to attend their assigned Assessment Day to help our staff create fair and balanced teams.

📅 Practices: Twice Weekly starting the Week of September 14th (Times TBD – Set by Coaches)

📅 Game Days: Saturdays, September 26 – October 24

🕘 Game Schedule will be distributed during the first week of practice.

• YMCA Members: $60
• Non-Members: $115
